Taking
the underground railroad (U-Bahn) from Hauptbahnhof
to the TUM
- On
alighting at Hauptbahnhof, walk to the back
of the train and follow the signs to the U1
and U2 underground lines.
- If
you do not already have a ticket, buy one and
stamp it at a ticket stamping machine.
- Take
the escalator to the platform marked U1 Rotkreuzplatz/U2
Feldmoching and take the U2 train one stop to
Königsplatz.
- Leave
the station at the Glyptothek exit. Cross the
road and enter the park.
- You
will now see a large building with many windows.
This is the main canteen of the TUM.
- The
street to your right is Arcis Strasse, and the
large building opposite you is the main campus
complex of the TUM.
Arriving
by car
It is not particularly advisable to travel to
the main TUM campus by car. There are few parking
spaces either in its vicinity or in downtown Munich.
Should you choose to travel to the TUM by car,
you will need about an hour from the outskirts
to downtown locations due to heavy traffic, especially
at rush hour times.
